Valence to Lyon 144ks over two days

An interesting two days of cycling and happenings.  After we left Valence and stopped at St-Vallier for morning tea we noticed that the local bridge was to be closed later that day for the tour de france.  So yippee we were going to see a stage of the tour that was to finish in Sarras.  As luck would have it there was a king of the mountain section just a few kilometers from where we were.
With it being daylight until around 10 pm we thought that we could watch the tour and then cycle on to a camp spot some 30 ks up the river.  This plan worked well and the only mishap for the day was clem’s crank coming off his bike.  Luckily it was still attached to his shoe and after a quick repair we were back cycling and able to reach the camping area by about 6:30.
Today we rode in from the camp at Saint Pierre de Boeuf to Lyon for a well earned two day rest. And as it is Bastille day here they have planned a night of fireworks and celebration to welcome us to the town.
