Paris Saturday 23 June

We have arrived in Paris a tad tired but otherwise happy to be here and with all our luggage.  All of our flights were on time.  

After some of the negative reports that I heard about Southern China Airlines I was a bit nervous as to what the service or quality of the planes would be.  But I am very happy to report that I could not find much wrong with the planes or food and considering that they are about $1000 a person cheaper than Emirates I reckon it was a very good deal.

Since I was last here the Airport has opened a new international arrivals hall.   Which is all very glassy and chrome like.

We are now waiting to check into the hotel.

Trip overview

This year we are flying to Paris on 22 June and then onto Bordeaux to start our cycle tour.

We are intending to ride

    South from Bordeaux along the coast
    along the river/canal to Toulouse and then Narbonne
    north east to Avignon
    up to Grenoble for a quick climb up Alpe d'Huez
    on to Geneva
    across Switzerland to Rorschach on Lake Konstanz
    around the lake and on to Strasbourg
    west to Paris with a possible stopover in Epernay for some Champagne
   ending with five days in Paris.

In total we will be away for nine weeks.

This year's cycling group consists of (from left to right)  Phill, Linda, Lesley, Steve, Chris and Clem.
